The Nutcracker Story
Choreographed to Tchaikovsky’s famous music, The Nutcracker ballet tells the story of a young girl named Clara and her mischievous brother, Fritz. Both have just attended a grand and festive Christmas party hosted by their parents.
It’s thrilling when their mysterious Uncle Drosselmeyer arrives with presents, giving Clara a magnificent nutcracker.
Fritz, jealous of his sister, purposefully breaks the nutcracker, and Clara is heartbroken. To her delight, Drosselmeyer repairs the nutcracker and the party ends happily. Once everyone has gone to sleep, Clara begins a strange, yet magical adventure.
The Nutcracker School Show begins with Clara’s journey to the Land of Snow, where she is welcomed by dancing snowflakes. The Nutcracker Prince escorts Clara to the Kingdom of Sweets where she is greeted by the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier.
Clara and the Nutcracker are honored and entertained with spectacular dances by Spanish Hot Chocolate, Arabian Coffee, Chinese Tea, Russian Candy, beautiful flowers and delectable Bon Bons.
To conclude the night, the Sugar Plum Fairy and the Cavalier perform a special dance before waving goodbye. Clara is offered gifts to bring back home and leaves the scene in a beautiful Christmas ornament.
